Investment bank BTIG Australia has appointed Andrew Dalgleish as chief executive officer. He joins from UBS where he has been for the last 13 years in a variety of senior roles. Dalgleish was most recently global head of portfolio trading and beta solutions in New York and prior to that was global co-head of portfolio trading and head of institutional client solutions. He will be based in Sydney.
Tower Insurance has announced its chief executive Richard Harding will step down at the end of his contract term in late 2020. Harding has held this position since 2015 and the board has commenced a search to replace him. Peter Mugglestone has been promoted to the new role of chief operating officer from his current role as chief information officer. He will now have oversight over for Tower’s claims, underwriting, pacific and information technology.
Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has appointed Garreth Innes as the head of Australian fixed income. Innes has been with ASI for over eight years in the fixed income team. He was previously assistant investment manager (fixed income), investment manager – macro credit (fixed income) and most recently investment director.
The Assistant Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and Financial Technology, Jane Hume has appointed Will Hamilton as a part-time director to the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA). He is chief executive of Hamilton Wealth and was previously general manager wealth services at NAB. Prior to that he was head of private bank at BT Financial Group in Victoria and South Australia, head of private wealth management at Goldman Sachs JBWere and managing director of Deutsche Securities Asia in Hong Kong.
Perpetual has appointed Fiona Trafford-Walker as a non-executive director. She was managing director of Frontier Advisers and is now director of consulting. Trafford-Walker is a non-executive director of Link Group, Prospa and Victorian Funds Management Corporation.
QBE has announced the retirement of Fred Eppinger as non-executive director after less than a year, due to other commitments. He has recently taken on the role as chief executive of US based Stewart Title.
