Jacqueline Hey has been appointed as chair of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. She has been a member of the board since 2011 and was the chief executive of Ericsson in the UK and Australia. Hey is currently a non-executive director of Qantas, AGL and Cricket Australia. She assumes the position from Robert Johanson who has announced his retirement after 31 years as a director at the bank, with 13 as chair.
Former Keybridge Capital chief executive Nicholas Bolton has resumed his position as CEO for the third time. He previously held this position from 2014 to 2015 but was interrupted due to an order made by ASIC, which has since been appealed. Bolton served as a director between 2011 and 2012 and executive director from 2013 to 2015.
ME Bank has appointed Adam Crane as chief financial officer after previously announcing Gary Dickson’s resignation from the role. Crane has over 25 years’ experience in banking and financial services and joins from Indue, where was the chief financial officer. Prior to that spent he 13 years at Suncorp, where his roles included acting chief financial officer of Suncorp’s Life and Wealth Management business.
Magellan Financial Group has appointed Hamish McLennan as deputy chair of the board. Robert Fraser has been appointed chair of Magellan Asset management Ltd, responsible entity and main operating subsidiary of Magellan.
Bank of Queensland chair Roger Davis will retire following the full year results in October. He has been a member of the board since 2008 and served as chair since 2013. Patrick Allaway has been appointed as chair elect and has over 30 years’ experience in financial services having held positions at Citibank, UBS and as managing director at SBC Capital Markets and Treasury. He is a non-executive director of Nine Entertainment Co and Domain Limited and has previously served on the boards of Macquarie Goodman Industrial Trust, Metcash Limited and Woolworths South Africa.
MUFG Bank has promoted Drew Riethmuller to head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) for Oceania. He will be responsible for Australia and New Zealand in addition to his current responsibility for the global corporate banking business in the region. Riethmuller joined MUFG from ANZ Bank in 2016 and prior to that he spent 17 years at Citigroup in various senior positions.
Nikko AM has appointed Linda Luo to the newly created role of credit analyst within its fixed income team. Her focus will be on fundamental credit analysis on the loan and investment grade debt holdings across Nikko AM’s portfolios. Luo previously worked for NAB as senior associate in the Global Institutional Banking team.
